Cutting-edge dermatological research
KOSÉ's core research facilities are the Product Development Laboratory and the Advanced Research Laboratory. The Product Development Laboratory has been in operation since 2004 and develops skincare, makeup and other cosmetic products, and also researches the raw materials used to make those products; it also has a department that deal with regulations, etc., in Japan and overseas and manages technology-related information. The Advanced Research Laboratory was established in 2019 to take over basic research functions and engage in basic research on skin and drugs and quality assurance research; the facility has since added basic and applied research in the data field. In 2017, we also opened a research branch in Lyon, France, which is a global center for dermatology research, to carry out cutting-edge dermatology research.
By concentrating our main research functions in the Oji area of Tokyo, product research and basic research can be done in close collaboration, allowing day-to-day research activities to create even more new value.
