Recruiting and Developing Global Talent to Strengthen Our International Presence

To solidify our global business foundation and advance regional optimization, we aim to continuously develop talent for global key posts* and expand our pool of overseas assignees.
Currently, our fulfillment ratio for global key posts stands at 1.4x.In light of our growing international operations, we will place greater emphasis on developing and hiring successors for overseas assignments, with the goal of raising the ratio to 2.5x.
In the short term, we plan to recruit individuals with overseas assignment experience (including non-Japanese nationals) through mid-career hiring. In the medium to long term, we will implement initiatives to strengthen global business experience, management capabilities, and language proficiency.

Developing Leaders with Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
To create new value, we need leaders who can drive initiatives while supporting and caring for their teams.To this end, we are working to accelerate the development of talent and increase the number of specialists by expanding opportunities for managerial candidates as well as young and mid-career employees.We currently conduct a selective training program each year to support employees in stepping up to managerial roles and to foster future leaders.
In addition, by participating in our new business creation program,* employees gain experience in planning and managing businesses from a management perspective.While post-promotion development currently relies heavily on individual on-the-job experience, additional support is sometimes necessary.
Going forward, we will strengthen training and development programs for managers and increase participation to better support the growth of our leaders.

Opportunities for Innovation and Challenges to Embrace
We aim to develop human resources who are full of ideas and innovations beyond the status quo, and who can always play an active role in the creation process. The LINK* innovation creation program, LINK*, which has been in place since fiscal 2017 and aims to create new value in beauty, is part of a system to support enthusiasm and a spirit of challenge, in which employees who will lead the next generation combine the Company’s strengths and resources with the latest technologies and innovating thinking of external start-up companies and use design thought to identify customer needs in an effort to create and commercialize new products and services with novel thinking. Brands like "Dear Child Skin" and "Nu⁺Rythme", both launched in 2024, originated from ideas developed through LINK and have since been successfully commercialized.
Since FY2022, the scope of LINK has been expanded to include our group companies, and the group as a whole is working to create innovations.
* LINK (Leadership and Innovation program for New KOSÉ) is an internal venture program started in 2017.

We are enhancing our recruitment processes with a focus on strengthening competitiveness in hiring for key roles that require deep expertise specific to the cosmetics industry, such as marketing, R&D, and production. We have established systems to attract talent from diverse backgrounds, including hiring non-Japanese nationals and implementing a "job return system" that enables former employees to return to work after leaving for reasons such as childcare, caregiving, or self-development.
